The circle thingy is a tape roll casting a shadow.
It's kinda sketchy and edgy. (there is a sketchy setting you can use in Sketchup to make things look wierd like that. I figured with your design idea with the string Andrew, you and I could complement a loose feel. Combined with Theo's idea of using cubist forms, the constrast could really pull off something nice.
